Holidays are often about getting gifts, gaining luck, believing in magic, and so many other idealisms that don’t always come true. That said, with a little planning and effort you can leverage almost any upcoming holiday be the best it can for your business. And as the saying goes, hard work pays off.
Use the following strategies to strengthen your customer communication, marketing strategies, and overall brand visibility efforts during the next holiday, whether it’s Independence Day, Easter, or even just #tbt.
Introduce holiday inspired images into your existing marketing
Whether it’s via your social media settings – or better yet, both – introduce compelling visuals that draw attention to both your brand and the holiday currently taking place. This may be as simple as incorporating green into your logo for St. Patrick’s Day or introducing Halloween inspired content into your existing visuals leading up to October 31st. Start a countdown leading up to the holiday
If your audience is primarily online, take advantage of social media, email marketing, and other online avenues of communication that you participate in to begin counting down the days until whatever holiday it is you’re leading up to. If you can connect with customers face to face, share daily updates regarding how many days are left until this upcoming holiday. While you’re at it, offer ideas on how to celebrate the day that cater to your target audience. Also consider sharing festive drink ideas, food ideas, humorous holiday jokes or tales and more. As always, the ideas are endless… but it takes creativity to get things rolling. Consider who your target audience is and keep them in mind you as count down the days and share festive ideas on how to celebrate each respective holiday.
Offer a promotional incentive that expires on each holiday you marketed it for.
There’s no better way to make green then to offer a savings of green. Customers like feeling as if they are a part of something special – particularly when it’s saving them money or offering a perceived value of costing more than it actually does. How can you make this concept work for your unique business? Even if this certain something special is only offered 24 hours long, that’s still 24 hours that you have to optimize this special something that you would not have otherwise.
Reach out to your most loyal customers
Loyalty pays off for businesses and customers alike. If you have a group of loyal customers who appreciate working with you again and again, be sure and let them in on any holiday specials, savings and fun you may be having. If you’re maximizing this via social media and other online outlets, it’s likely they may already know… but hearing about it from you directly is always a good thing!
Show your customers what you have to offer
Getting festive is one thing… but showing your customers how they can get festive using your products or services is another thing. Be sure that through all your messaging you consider how it will lead customers back to your website so that it can help you gain sales. Consider your products or services as your own pot of gold and market these to your customers as that, as well. By highlighting what it is you do and sharing with your audience how it can help them, you’re more likely to earn green… and after all, isn’t that what it’s all about?
